Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website, member accounts and online services of Viện Công Nghệ FIRST (“FIRST”, “we”, “us”). Please read them carefully. By creating an account, registering for a course or event, or continuing to use the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Our services

FIRST is a research, training and testing (Sandbox) platform for finance and technology. The platform provides:

• A library of research, articles, videos and professional materials;
• Courses, training programmes, workshops and events (online or in person);
• Certificates, credentials and an online credential verification tool;
• A member area to manage your profile, registrations and certificates and to submit research;
• A Sandbox programme that accepts project proposals;
• An email newsletter and the FIRST AI assistant.

Some services have their own conditions (for example fees, entry requirements or course rules). Those conditions apply together with these Terms and prevail for that service in case of conflict.

2. Member accounts

• You must provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information. You can review and edit your profile at any time in My account.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you notice unauthorised access.
• Each person may use one personal account only; accounts may not be shared, transferred or sold.
• People under 16 may only create an account with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
• You can ask us to close your account by following the “Data deletion requests” section of our Privacy Policy.

3. Course and event registration, fees

• Content, schedule, format, fees and capacity are published on each course or event page. A registration is confirmed only when FIRST sends you a confirmation.
• Fees (if any), payment methods and refund, deferral or transfer rules are stated on the course page or in the registration confirmation.
• FIRST may change the schedule, instructors, venue or format when necessary and will notify you as early as possible. If FIRST cancels a course, you will receive a refund of fees paid for the part not delivered, or a transfer to another course, at your choice.
• You can cancel your own registration in the member area before the course or event starts; refunds (if any) follow that course’s policy.

4. Certificates and verification

• Certificates are issued only when you meet the requirements of the programme (for example attendance or assessment results).
• Every certificate has a unique code and verification link. Anyone with the code or link can verify it and see the holder’s name, programme, issue date and status.
• Forging, altering or misrepresenting certificates is prohibited. FIRST may revoke a certificate issued on the basis of false information, assessment fraud or a serious breach of these Terms; a revoked certificate shows the status “revoked” when verified.

5. Content you submit

“Your Content” means research papers, attachments, Sandbox proposals, comments, images and profile information that you submit to the platform.

• Ownership: You (and your co-authors) keep copyright and ownership of Your Content.
• Licence to FIRST: When you submit content for publication, you grant FIRST a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, reformat, quote and distribute it on the FIRST website and official channels (newsletter, Facebook, Zalo, TikTok, YouTube, etc.), always with author attribution. This licence ends when the content is removed from the platform, except for copies already shared or quoted before removal.
• Editorial review: Research submissions are reviewed by our editors before publication. FIRST may request changes to, decline or remove content that does not meet professional standards or these Terms.
• Your promises: You confirm that you have all necessary rights to what you submit, that your co-authors have agreed, and that it does not infringe anyone’s intellectual property, trade secrets, personal data or the law.
• Removal: You can edit or delete unpublished submissions in the member area and ask us to remove published ones by contacting us.

6. FIRST’s intellectual property

The FIRST name, logo, design, curricula, lectures, videos, materials and other content produced by FIRST or its partners belong to FIRST or its licensors. You may use them for personal, non-commercial learning and research. Copying, recording, rebroadcasting, selling or redistributing them to third parties without FIRST’s written consent is prohibited. Short quotations must cite the source.

7. Prohibited conduct

When using the platform you must not:

• Impersonate others, provide false information or register someone else without their consent;
• Post unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, false, fraudulent or unauthorised promotional content, including unlawful investment solicitation;
• Harvest other members’ data, bulk-copy content with automated tools, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with or disrupt the system;
• Distribute malware or spam, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, servers or databases;
• Use FIRST AI or other platform tools to create unlawful or harmful content.

8. Not financial, investment or legal advice

Research, courses, events, videos and FIRST AI answers are provided for education and reference only. They are not investment, financial, tax or legal advice for your particular situation. You are responsible for your own decisions and should consult a qualified professional before acting. Participation of a project in the FIRST Sandbox does not mean that FIRST guarantees or recommends investing in it.

9. FIRST AI and automated tools

FIRST AI is an assistant powered by an artificial-intelligence model from a third-party provider. Its answers are generated automatically, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and should be checked by you. Do not enter passwords, bank account numbers, identity documents or other sensitive information into FIRST AI. How conversation data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Third-party services and links

The platform may embed or link to third-party services such as YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Zalo, LinkedIn or partner websites. These services are governed by their own terms and policies; FIRST does not control and is not responsible for their content or how they handle data.

11. Suspension and termination

FIRST may suspend or close an account, remove content or refuse service if you breach these Terms or the law, after notifying you (unless immediate action is needed to prevent harm). You may stop using the services at any time. Provisions on intellectual property, limitation of liability and dispute resolution survive termination.

12. Limitation of liability

• The platform is provided “as is”. FIRST works to keep the service stable, secure and accurate but does not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
• To the extent permitted by law, FIRST is not liable for indirect losses arising from use of or inability to use the platform, from content provided by other members or third parties, or from decisions you make based on reference content.
• FIRST’s total liability (if any) for a paid service will not exceed the fees you paid for that service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including consumer rights under Vietnamese law.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when our services or the law change. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page. For material changes we will notify you by email or on the website before they take effect. Continuing to use the platform after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. Disputes will first be resolved through negotiation and mediation. If no agreement is reached within 30 days, either party may bring the dispute before a competent People’s Court in Vietnam. The Vietnamese version of these Terms prevails if there is any inconsistency with this English version.
